Ruby Macaws

The Ruby Macaw is a hybrid produced by crossing a Green Wing Macaw and a Scarlet Macaw. If the male of the pair is a Green Wing, the offspring will generally have the size, in body and head, of the Green Wing. The green band of feathers in the middle of the wings will have varying amounts of orange and yellow, and some of the band feathers will also be edged or lined with shades of yellow and orange. The coloring can vary somewhat from one bird to another even in babies from the same clutch. Feather lines on the face are evident, but they are normally thinner than those of the Green Wing.
